Hantana House offered stunning views over the hills, a true Sri Lankan experience. The food was delightful, particularly the local curries with lots of choices at breakfast. I loved starting my day with string hoppers and chicken curry. The breakfast variety kept me satisfied. The rooms were modern, very clean, with comfortable beds and crisp linen that helped me rest well. The garden surrounding the villa added to the beautiful atmosphere and made it peaceful. A small hitch was the AC unit. it didn’t work as well as expected. We also encountered a missing TV remote, and the bathroom lacked adequate toiletries. It would have been better to have a mini refrigerator in the room too. The location is a bit remote, so reaching the city center takes a longer walk uphill, which may not suit everyone. Still, the experience here compensated for those inconveniences with its charm and serenity.

The design of the modern guesthouse impressed us with its
stylish decor and excellent room layout. Each floor had a lovely lounge area, perfect for relaxing before dinner. We also enjoyed delightful hikes nearby and felt incredibly welcome from the start, as Pathi and his family treated us like their own.

beautiful jungle views, stylishly decorated common areas, fast WiFi
The location is quite a trek from the city center, making it inconvenient for those wanting quick access!!! The dining area can be noisy, especially when meals are being prepared or served!!! A more soundproof setup could be beneficial!!!

great stay with a few caveats
The room was spacious and impeccably clean, which made for a delightful retreat. I adored the breakfast, with a variety of freshly prepared options that were genuinely delicious. The hosts were incredibly friendly, going out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay, such as organizing a fantastic hiking experience that allowed us to enjoy the breathtaking mountain view.
The location can be a bit challenging to reach, especially for those without a vehicle.

The views from the rooms are stunning, making for a picturesque escape where you can truly relax. The modern and clean accommodations, especially the comfy beds with crisp linen, contributed to a restful stay.
The AC in the room was not up to par. it didn't cool as effectively as needed. There was also a missing TV remote, and the bathroom lacked proper toiletries like toilet paper. Accessing the city center requires a bit of a trek in a tuk-tuk, which can add up quickly. breakfast options could be better, as they mainly served just bread, butter, and fruits. The room felt cramped for two, and there was a noticeable lack of amenities like a mini fridge, making the stay less comfortable than it could have been.

Staying in the hills offered breathtaking views, with the tranquil atmosphere enhanced by stunning palm trees and diverse bird songs. The friendly family running this home stay made us feel truly welcome, and the authentic Sri Lankan dishes, especially the delightful curries and fresh preparations, were a highlight. reaching the property requires navigating steep, winding roads, which may not be ideal for everyone, and the location's remoteness could limit dining options outside the establishment.
